Following telegram received from Secretary of State for the Colonies repeated for your information and guidance;-
I am about to lay before Parliament further correspondence regarding the munificent gifts which have so far been offered from the various parts of the Empire and before doing so I desire on behalf of His Majesty's Government again to express their deep gratitude to all who have so generously and in such diverse ways both publicly and privately contributed to the requirements of His Majesty's Government and their Allies for purpose of alleviating the distress caused by the war and bringing it to a successful
